With nearly 20 years experience, Ben Miller has handled over 200 criminal appeals and been committed to protecting people’s right to a fair trial.
The priority is to help indigent people and their families in seeking justice during the appellate process. Ben is licensed to practice in Utah, Maryland, DC, Massachusetts, and most federal appellate courts.

Teaching Experience
Ben has taught as an adjunct professor at four different law schools. He has taught classes on legal writing and oral advocacy and criminal law and procedure. Currently, he is teaching as an adjunct at the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law, teaching a class on postconviction law and helping to oversee students handling casework in the postconviction clinic.

Public Defender Experience
Ben has been an appellate public defender with the Maryland Office of the Public Defender, Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia, and now with the Utah Indigent Appellate Defense Division. He also is a member of the CJA appellate panel for the Seventh and Tenth Circuits. In these roles, he has helped people challenge their convictions ranging from DUI to murder.
